Debug:
Have you just assembled your kit and the pedal does not work as you expected?
On this page, we give you the points to check, one by one, in order to find the fault:
The pedal itself:
- Take the assembly instructions next to you, and check all the stages of the modification point by point.
- Check that you have mounted the right components in the right places
(see color code of resistors and code of capacitors below).
- Look closely at your welds, they must not touch each other, the circuit track must not be damaged.
- Repeat them properly if necessary, if you have any doubt about the condition, check that there is contact between two points with the multimeter.
- Check that no wire has been made in the trunk, either pinched or damaged.
- Test the correct operation of the switches using a multimeter.
- Check the direction of the diodes (always with the assembly instructions).
- Check that the legs of the resistors or diodes do not touch each other or that the bare wires are not in contact with
the case or other components.
- If you have overheated the IC, it may be toasted, in general there is no sound.
- If you have an IC support, push the IC firmly into its support, check that all the legs are straight.
- If the switch LED does not light up, reverse the LED, is it in the right direction?
Listening test:
- Already plug your guitar directly into the amp without a pedal to check that it works.
- Then connect ONLY the pedal concerned to avoid any unnecessary doubt.
- Check all the connections concerned: guitar, jack, patch, garlands, effects loop ...
- Check the cable routing, a reversed or pinched cable can be the cause of a lot of worry for nothing.
- Try a different diet and with a battery.
The most important thing is to check each point carefully, until the cause of the failure can be traced.
Good luck!
BEFORE SENDING OR MAKING CONTACT WITH THE WORKSHOP FOR REPAIR, CHECK YOUR EQUIPMENT FOLLOWING THE STEPS ABOVE, THIS WILL ALLOW ME TO MAKE A MORE ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS.
Finally, you hesitate to assemble your kit?
Do not panic! Return the kit + the pedal to us, you only pay the difference for assembly in the workshop.
